We’ve been performing here at E3 for nearly two years now, and our most recent performance was last night’s “Délices du Film” at the E3 Conference Hall. It was a screening of the new horror film director Jonathan Demme’s new film “Délices.
I have to say, I was a little bit skeptical of the whole thing. It looked way too much like a horror film for my tastes. The movie, however, is very funny and very dark. He goes through his own personal hell of a journey, and is at times in a rather disturbing state, but it is very interesting to see how quickly he gets out of his own head. He loses all of his memories, and is only able to remember his current state when he becomes a character in the film.
I really like the contrast between the way in which the protagonist’s work is created and the way in which his work is destroyed, which to me is one of the most interesting things about the story. The way the protagonist is able to create a very strong sense of his own artistic control over his own creations, and is unable to do the same in his own life, is very interesting.
